Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll 25A introduces enhancements to the Redwood Experience, Oracle’s modern, consumer-grade user interface designed to improve usability and streamline payroll processes.

The Redwood Experience in Payroll 25A brings a refreshed, intuitive design to key payroll pages, featuring updated visual elements like scalable vector graphics (SVG) icons, a modern style sheet, and a responsive layout that works seamlessly across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. This ensures that payroll administrators and employees can manage tasks efficiently, whether in the office or on the go. The interface simplifies navigation, reducing the steps needed to access critical functions like payment methods, costing results, or payroll relationships.

  • Payment Methods Update: Users can now create and manage personal payment methods associated with bank accounts for various person types, such as Contingent Workers, Pending Workers, and Non-Workers. This feature simplifies the process by allowing users to create payment methods and associated bank accounts in a single transaction.
  • Payroll Frequency Configuration: New page properties enable better control over payroll details in HR flows. For instance, you can make payroll mandatory for completing transactions or hide the delete button to prevent accidental changes.
  • Guided Journeys: These interactive guides simplify payroll processes by breaking down complex workflows into manageable steps. They are particularly useful for onboarding tasks like tax declarations and pension enrolments.
  • Payroll Activity Centre: A centralized hub for managing payroll tasks, providing a consolidated view of statuses, alerts, and activities to streamline operations.

These updates reflect Oracle’s commitment to delivering a modern, intuitive, and user-friendly payroll experience.

Key Features in Payroll 25A Redwood Experience

  • Costing of Payment Results Page

A new Redwood page lets users view and manage payment cost results from the Costing of Payments process. It groups debit and credit entries for clarity, offers export options to Excel, and allows filtering by past payroll periods. Access it via the Person Results task under My Client Groups > Payroll > Payment Costing Results.

Why It Matters: Simplifies cost tracking for payroll admins, reducing errors and saving time.

  • Personal Payment Methods for All Person Types

Extended Redwood functionality now supports Contingent Workers, Pending Workers, and Non-Workers (in addition to employees). Users can create payment methods and bank accounts in one transaction, view summaries in a card layout, and manage details via a panel drawer.

Self-Service: Me > Pay > Payment Methods.

Professional Users: My Client Groups > Payroll > Personal Payment Methods.

Why It Matters: Broadens accessibility, making payroll management consistent across all worker types with a modern, user-friendly interface.

  • Automatic Enablement of Core Pages

The Personal Payment Methods and Payroll Relationships pages are now Redwood-enabled by default (if the ORA_HCM_VBCS_PWA_ENABLED profile option is set to “Y”). No extra setup is needed unless you want to revert to older versions using specific profile options (e.g., ORA_PAYROLL_RELATIONSHIPS_REDWOOD_ENABLED).

Why It Matters: Reduces setup effort and ensures users immediately experience Redwood’s cohesive design.

  • Enhanced User Experience

Features like guided journeys provide in-app assistance for complex tasks, while unified search (powered by Oracle Search Cloud Service) with fuzzy matching helps users find payroll data quickly. Dashboards offer real-time insights into payment statuses or payroll runs, customizable via Visual Builder Studio (VBS).

Why It Matters: Cuts training time and boosts productivity with intuitive tools.
