Redwood for Procurement is here! Oracle has now added its next-generation, state-of-the-art consumer-grade user experience to Procurement, helping users to streamline procurement processes and enabling faster reordering by making it easier to create and search for items.

The Redwood user interface has been designed with the aim to provide a modernised and user-friendly experience starting with the following pages in Procurement:

Responsive Self Service Procurement – Facilitating requesters to search for items, create and manage requisitions, submit requisitions, and check requisition statuses on the move.

Responsive Self-Service Receiving – Allowing requesters to search and receipt across multiple document types including purchase order, transfer order and advance shipment notice (ASN) efficiently on a mobile device, tablet, laptop, or desktop web browser.

Next Generation Supplier Self-Service Registration – A guided registration process optimised to easily capture data with Improved extensibility allowing custom validations and default logic.

What to Expect from Redwood in Procurement

The introduction of Redwood UX far exceeds just visual changes and upgrades, it also brings with it a host of benefits including:

Elastic Search – Responsive Self Service Procurement introduces a smart elastic based search engine that supports searchable attributes across requisition headers, lines, and distributions with built-in fuzzy matching. Resulting in more accurate potential matches. The application also generates automated suggestions based on recent searched keywords and requisition data.

Improved Accessibility

– The application is now fully responsive and available across mobile, tablet, laptop, and desktop devices allowing requisitioners to procure goods and services seamlessly on the go. Each device has its own UI with elements changing positions, resizing or being hidden while maintaining the same or similar functionality.

Review Requisition Lines with Invoice Holds – As a requester, identifying which requisitions are on hold is not always so straight forward. The introduction of RSSP makes requesters aware of requisition lines causing invoice holds due to overbill or pending receipt allowing them to swift action.

View Current Approvers of a Requisition – Whether approval rules have been defined using supervisory hierarchy, position or job level hierarchy, single or list of approvers, application role, or approval groups. The application now lists the current approver(s) on the requisition details page.

Display Rejection Reason for Auto rejected Requisitions – Rejection reasons can now be configured to automatically reject requisitions based on approval rules. This allows the requesters to make the necessary changes to requisitions without the need to seek guidance from administrators.

Secure Catalog Content By Internal Deliver-to Locations – Shopping catalogues could only be secured by requisitioning BUs or workers. With the upgraded application local catalogues, punchout catalogues, smart forms, and public shopping lists can now be secured using internal deliver-to locations, allowing your business to secure a catalogue’s content to a specific location such as warehouses or an office location.

The Roadmap to 25C

In recent and future quarterly updates Oracle has and will be releasing more and more functionality. As of 25C Oracle will be retiring the Self-Service Procurement Cloud – Purchase Requisitions and replacing it with the Responsive Self-Service Procurement application. 24C and 24D will be bringing a host of new features including the introduction of Oracle Guided Journeys for redwood pages, and an extended ability to customise and add validations to the Procurement Redwood pages using Visual Builder Studio.

With update 25A, the original Supplier Registration flow will be retired and no longer available being replaced with the Redwood Next Generation Supplier Registration originally released in 23C.
