  • ABILITY TO PROCESS SUBSCRIPTION TRANSACTIONS ASYNCHRONOUSLY

You can process subscription transactions on a large volume of data asynchronously, so you can continue using the application while the updates happen in the background.

You can decide what qualifies as large volume of data by setting the profile option – Threshold Subscription Size for Asynchronous Lifecycle Operation (ORA_OSS_ASYNC_THRESHOLD)

  • UPDATE COMPLETION DATE OF BILLING MILESTONES BEYOND SUBSCRIPTION TERM

You can now update the completion date of billing milestones with a date before the start or after the end date of a subscription product. You can also update the completion date of the revenue milestones with a date before the start or after the end date of a subscription product.

You can bill the customer when the milestone is delayed beyond the subscription end date without amending the subscription.

  • REVENUE ACCOUNTING FOR EARLY TERMINATION FEE

You can now create a new revenue contract when you bill your customers for terminating the subscription early. The Early Termination Fee is now interfaced to Revenue Management Cloud to create a new revenue contract.

ASC 606 compliance for Early Termination Fee by creating a revenue contract.

  • BILLING FREQUENCY AND ACCOUNTING RULE AT CHARGE LEVEL

Billing frequency and accounting rule can be modified at charge level so that the billing schedule is generated accordingly.

Billing frequency and accounting rule at the product level drives the way billing schedules are generated for either a subscription product or a covered level. With the additional ability to specify a different billing frequency and accounting rule at the charge level, you will be able to decide how billing schedules are generated for different charges. For the existing subscriptions, the billing frequency and accounting rule are defaulted with blank values and for such cases, the product level values will continue to drive the way billing schedules are generated.

  • CONTROLLED ACCESS FOR CREDIT MEMOS

You can control who can create credit memos using the new security privilege.

A new functional security privilege ‘Create Credit Memo’ (OSS_CREATE_CREDIT_MEMO) is added and is mapped to the existing duty roles, by default (out-of-the-box), so that there is no change in the functionality with respect to who can or cannot create the credit memos from the subscription management.

In case you want to prevent a user from being able to create credit memos due to your business requirement, you must customize the out-of-the-box seeded duty roles/job roles, remove the new privilege (OSS_CREATE_CREDIT_MEMO), and map such custom duty roles/job roles to that user.

  • SELL AND MANAGE PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE PLANS FOR SUBSCRIPTIONS

By associating a maintenance program template to the coverage product, create a maintenance program for the covered levels. This maintenance program will be, subsequently, converted to one or more work orders and service requests in the downstream applications to support the preventive maintenance for the covered levels.

Because of the coverage template association, you can see the preventive maintenance program in the Edit Product screen.
