Oracle Fusion Absence Management in Cloud HCM enables organizations to configure flexible
absence plans, track leave balances, process requests, and ensure compliance with global
policies. It integrates with Time and Labor, Payroll, and Global HR for seamless workflows. The
25C update emphasizes AI-driven insights and Redwood UX enhancements, Oracle’s modern
interface for faster, mobile-optimized interactions. While core Redwood migrations for Absence
Management were largely completed in earlier releases (e.g., 24A for entry pages), 25C
mandates full Redwood adoption across HCM—including Absence—by deprecating classic UIs.
This includes AI agents embedded in Redwood pages for proactive absence oversight.

Key Redwood-Enabled Features in Absence Management 25C
Leave and Absence Analyst (My Team) AI Agent: A generative AI assistant built on
Redwood pages, accessible via Navigator > Me > AI Chat. It provides role-based, secure
responses to queries like “What is [team member’s] remaining PTO balance?” or “Show
eligibility for family leave.” Features include deep links to HCM apps for actions (e.g.,
approve requests), visibility into balances, completed/scheduled absences, donations,
and disbursements. Context-aware and conversational, it enhances decision-making
without leaving the Redwood interface.
Localization-Based Absence Cases Page: Upgraded to full Redwood UI for a unified
experience. This page handles country-specific absence processing (e.g., statutory
leaves), with streamlined navigation, reduced clicks, and embedded analytics. Managers
access it via My Client Groups > Absence > Cases, supporting bulk actions and
customizable views.
Absence Entry and Calendar Integration: Building on 25B, the Redwood Calendar page
(Me > Time and Absences > Calendar) allows direct absence additions for configured
types. The absence entry page (recreated in 24A with Visual Builder Studio) now displays
assignment numbers alongside titles for multi-assignment workers, improving accuracy
in Redwood’s high-fidelity layout.
Enhanced Absence Calculations: Automatic subtraction of unpaid breaks from full-shift
absences (extending 25B), applied in Redwood time cards and reports. Supports
midnight-spanning shifts for compliance, with real-time previews in the entry page.
HCM-Wide Redwood Mandates: Responsive Checklist Tasks and Onboarding pages are
replaced by Redwood Journeys (enabled by default), impacting absence-related
onboarding flows. Embed OTBI reports (e.g., absence trends) directly into Redwood
Analytics dashboards for interactive insights.
